Job description

Our client is a leading online, mobile and POS payment service provider. They help eCommerce businesses of all sizes and sectors accept payments via multiple customer touch points.

We are looking for an experienced, full-time Technical Support Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in technical/customer support and further experience in web programming will be considered as an advantage.

Key requirements


  • Deploy and administer AWS Redshift, columnar data lake, and SQL query engine
  • Handle provisioning, operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of the database and data lake infrastructure
  • Provide consistent DB maintenance, optimisation, and best practices to existing Redshift clusters, data lake, SQL engine, and reporting apps
  • Provide Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and execution with RPO/RTO objectives and SLAs
  • Work with the latest AWS cloud technologies

  • 1+ year experience using AWS Redshift or another analytic columnstore (or equivalent knowledge)
  • Some experience with data modelling and optimization, ETL processes
  • Experience with other DB engines (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc) a definite advantage
  • Familiarity and desire to work with latest AWS cloud-based tools and services
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English
  • Enthusiastic, hard-working, and motivated team player with excellent communication skills
